The Schwyz Culture Weekend offers an impressive variety of culture from Friday to Sunday. 160 cultural events take place in 29 towns and villages, presenting the rich cultural heritage of Canton Schwyz in all its diversity.
A weekend for every taste: from the film premiere and the painting workshop to impro-theatre and the Ländler Stubete. In addition, over 70 artists open their studios to the public. They allow intimate insights into creative work in general as well as into work processes and various techniques. Once again, various collections will be shown with guided tours.
From Küssnacht to Einsiedeln - from Muotathal to Pfäffikon: the cultural heritage of Canton Schwyz is presented in its full breadth in 29 villages.
Smaller villages once again amaze with their commitment. Ried, Muotathal, for example, boasts a veritable colony of artists; exciting performances and readings are impressive, such as actively keeping up with the drawing from the model; dance and music are trumps, from the "Lüpfigen" to classical music and organ concerts; and the most pleasant choice is an insight into a conducting course or a promising visit to the a cappella festival. There are no limits to your preferences.
Children cannot be sensitized to culture early enough. So there are numerous events for the youngest to the youngest (with heavy sound and mega gigs). In general: music, theatre and "Äktschn" have the word, besides painting and drawing etc.
No fewer than three bus tours visit numerous art and art events stations in the outer and inner parts of the canton. Two "cultural tours" start on Saturday morning from Pfäffikon, one from Goldau. These long-popular "culture tours" visit open studios, exhibitions in unusual rooms, performances and other artistic "crime scenes".
The cultural weekend celebrated its premiere in 2010 and has been held every two years since then. The next edition will take place on the following dates:
Most of the events are free of charge and can be attended without prior notice. For events with admission, tickets can be ordered directly from the respective organizer. Please refer to the details for each event on this website. No tickets are sold through Schwyz KulturPlus. Tickets for the Culture Bus can be ordered online.
