What could be better than snowshoe walking through freshly snow-dusted, pre-alpine landscapes?
Over the course of two to three hours, you walk through spotless fields of snow with amazing views, far removed from hectic everyday life. The trail starts at the Restaurant Tändli in Trachslau, from where you ascend approximately 300 metres to Mount Ruchegg, before tackling the descent to Rothenthurm. The trail can also be walked in reverse.
The signposted tour is straightforward and also suitable for beginners. Snowshoes can be hired from the following providers. The last two also offer guided snowshoe walks – and you can even enjoy a fondue afterwards.
