The toboggan runs of the Mythen Region offer fantastic views and rides through the winter forests. Here, you can enjoy the unspoilt pre-alpine landscape on groomed toboggan runs, which you can reach in comfort via our cable cars. You have constant views of the beautiful landscape that include the Mythen mountains, the valley basin of Schwyz, the lakes and the Muota Valley Alps. Tobogganing in the Mythen Region takes place on Mount Rotenflue by Schwyz, in Illgau at the start of the Muota Valley, in Alpthal, or on weekend evenings by the Handgruobi ski lift by Schwyz.

On the groomed, 3.5-kilometre toboggan run from Mount Rotenflue to the Rätigs middle station of the Rotenfluebahn cable car, you descend 500 metres in altitude and can return to the starting point on Mount Rotenflue in comfort, thanks to the new cable car. With our family tobogganing day ticket, you can enjoy tobogganing fun for the whole family at a discounted price. The starting point is the valley station of the Rotenfluebahn cable car in Rickenbach.

On this groomed, 2.3-kilometre toboggan run, you descend 360 metres in altitude from the mountain station of the Illgau-St. Karl cable car down to the village of Illgau. We also recommend having a go at riding the ski bocks built by local carpenters, which can be hired at the valley station of the cable car. You can round off your day’s tobogganing in comfort with a fondue at the Restaurant Sigristenhaus in Illgau. The starting point is the Illgau-St. Karl cable car in Illgau at the entrance to the Muota Valley.

This utterly beautiful toboggan run from Bogenfang to Schlittelstübli Fryfang is 2.5 kilometres in length and situated in Alpthal. The starting point can be reached by shuttle bus or on foot. The lower section of the toboggan run leads past the Restaurant «Schlittelstübli», which is known for its spicy cheese fondue. It also hosts events and night-time tobogganing for groups. The starting point is the «Stei» bus stop on the Postbus Brunni line from Einsiedeln, where you will also find parking.

Night-time tobogganing for young and old is offered every Friday and Saturday in Handgruobi. Here, the 1.3-kilometre ski piste through the snow-covered woods, reserved for skiers and snowboarders during the day, becomes your playground at night. After lightning-fast fun on the toboggan, the cosy piste-side restaurants in Handgruobi by Schwyz offer you cheese fondue and raclette. The starting point is the Handgruobi ski lift by the mountain pass towards Ibergeregg. A special night-time tobogganing bus from the ‘Schwyz Post’ stop is also in operation (included in your ticket).

The range of tobogganing adventures is rounded off with the two short toboggan runs along the Holzegg West ski lift on Mount Holzegg and the Alpstubli ski lift on Mount Ibergeregg. They are the ideal complement to a day of winter sport with small children. The starting point for Mount Holzegg is the Brunni-Holzegg cable car in Alpthal. Mount Ibergeregg is situated along the mountain pass between Schwyz and Oberiberg.
