What could be better than snowshoe walking through freshly snow-dusted, pre-alpine landscapes?
During two to three hours you hike through untouched snow fields with brilliant views, far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The start is on Oberdorfstrasse in Rothenthurm, from where you ascend just under 300 meters in altitude to Ruchegg, and then tackle the descent (again just under 300 meters in altitude) to Restaurant Tändli in Trachslau. The trail can also be walked in reverse.
The signposted tour is uncomplicated and also suitable for beginners. If you want to rent snowshoes, you can do so at the following providers:
The Beaver Creek Ranch also offers guided snowshoe hikes - how about a fondue afterwards?
