Stoos is a car-free leisure, sporting and holiday destination with comprehensive infrastructure and a diverse range of attractions for winter and summer athletes.
This leisure region offers you a funicular railway from Schwyz/Schlattli and a cable car from Morschach to the village of Stoos. Chairlifts take you up to the alpine foothills of Fronalpstock and Klingenstock. On Fronalpstock, a stunningly beautiful panorama restaurant awaits you, as well as a 1.5-kilometre circular panorama trail with breathtaking views. Younger walking enthusiasts can look forward to romping around at the highest playground in the canton of Schwyz, which features a Tarzan rope winch and a carousel.
The world’s steepest funicular railway carries you from the valley station at Schwyz-Schlattli to the centre of the mountain village of Stoos. The mountain station is situated in a walking region at around 1,300 metres above sea level. On sunny summer days and public holidays, or when travelling with a larger group, we recommend arriving by funicular railway.
