The history of Victorinox dates back to 1884 when Karl Elsener opened a knife factory in Ibach-Schwyz. His revolutionary idea of manufacturing a knife with many practical functions resulted in success: the Swiss Army Knife was born.

Today, there are over 400 models of pocketknife with a huge range of functions and available in many different colours. All of these are produced at the company’s headquarters in Ibach. For example, the popular ‘Swiss Champ’ model consists of 64 individual parts and is produced in 450 separate processes at the knife factory. The Factory Store was re-opened in the spring of 2018 following refurbishment and is located – as the name suggests – on the factory premises. Situated virtually cheek by jowl with the factory, the store offers the most comprehensive range of pocketknives and household knives. However, you will also find over 130 watch models, the entire range of Victorinox perfumes and a small, elegant selection of travel accessories. The Factory Store also offers various services: you can have your knives sharpened, buy replacement watch straps and batteries, and have the handle and blade of your pocketknife engraved.
