Gently ascending forest path (alternative: use the Treib-Seelisberg funicular railway).
You can reach the Rütli by boat. The Rütli Meadow - birthplace of the Swiss Confederation - is a 10-minute walk from the jetty; you pass the Gasthaus Rütli. The Swiss Path starts at the guesthouse and leads mostly through woodland, initially on a very wide track, then a pleasant uphill footpath.

The gravel path has no steps and zigzags its way up to Seelisberg, some 350 metres higher. The footpath reaches the road just below the upper terminus of the Treib-Seelisberg funicular and takes you past the terminus (which is also where the PostBus terminates) and numerous restaurants to Seelisberg with its church.
