The magic of canoeing can best be experienced in Brunnen through the breathtaking landscape and the charming beauty of Lake Lucerne. The canoe tours in Brunnen on Lake Lucerne are the best way to really let your soul dangle, enjoy nature and explore a piece of Swiss history from the water.

Find out about the cradle of switzerland from the water. There are places steeped in history on the shores of Lake Lucerne. For example the Schillerstein, the Rütli meadow or the Tellsplatte. From the Brunnen canoe station you can start an unforgettable canoe adventure. Especially impressive is when you paddle through a rock gate or look up the 380-metre high cliffs. On the way, various resting places invite you to have a picnic or a jump into the cool water.

Procedure of the canoe tour

After your arrival at the canoe station Brunnen you will receive a 30-minute instruction in paddling technique and route planning. You will also receive safety instructions and helpful tips. You can choose between different routes that you want to paddle. The tours last the whole day. You will receive the appropriate map material and the route will be explained to you in detail. Then the canoe with paddle as well as a life jacket will be handed over to you and you will get into the boat.

Start & End

Start at 09.00 a.m. at the Brunnen canoe station.

Hire ends between 15.00 and 17.00 depending on the route. The time of return is determined at the morning instruction. However, the canoes must be returned to the canoe station by 5.00 pm at the latest.

Why is the hire only in the morning?

The morning is the best time to start. The wind is weak, there are still a few boats on Lake Lucerne and most importantly - the small rest areas are not yet occupied.

Implementation

During storms and heavy thunderstorms no boats are rented.

Between mid-June and the end of September the following canoes can be booked online every day:

Kayak for 1 person => 2 kayak
Kayak for 2 persons => 1 kayak
Canoe for 2 adults and 1 child => 1 caneo

Equipment

Light leisure wear (synthetic and no cotton)
Rain jacket/trousers (at least windproof to prevent cooling)
Sun protection (sunglasses, sun cream, sun hat)

Mobile phone for emergencies (packed waterproof)

Good to know

Good swimming skills are required.
Infants, alcoholized persons and non-swimmers do not belong in the canoe.
For beginners it is recommended to choose a shorter stage (maximum 4 hours paddling time).
Wearing a life jacket is mandatory.
Children and teenagers under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a supervisor.
It is not recommended to take valuables such as jewellery or expensive cameras with you on the canoe trip.
